The girls and I have been taking every opportunity to eat as many French delicacies as we can during our last few weeks here. Last weekend we were invited over for dinner at a fellow Couchsurfer's house. We prepared a fondue savoyarde, which is a cheese fondu made of three types of cheese (Beaufort, Comte, and Emmental) and mixed with white wine and garlic. We dipped bread into the fondue and ate until we couldn't move!
On Wednesday afternoon, we had fresh oysters for lunch. Martha and Britt went to buy the oysters - 3 kilos - and we all sat eating oysters and drinking Picpoul de Pinet, which is a white wine made near Sete. We put Martha and Britt to work opening all the oysters:
I am headed to Lille in about an hour to spend the weekend with some friends. I know it will be a bittersweet trip because my friends that I studied abroad with won't be there. I will update again once I get back from Chez les Ch'tis!
